OSCAR MANCINO
THE VOICE OF NAPLES
The renowned Neapolitan lyric artist, composer and director, has the volcanic energy of Naples running through his veins. He is an exceptional classical and operatic singer with an extraordinary range from G bass clef to tenor high C.
One of the great interpreters of Italian opera, and especially of his favourite role, that of Verdi's Rigoletto, he has always been passionate about the Neapolitan contribution to the world of music and has earned the title of «The Voice of Naples» from his compatriots.
While a highly talented composer himself, Oscar Mancino has inspired
several contemporary Neapolitan songwriters, including Tonino Esposito
and Louis Siciliano who consider him the new Caruso, and have given
him treasures that were waiting for a worthy interpreter.
With his CD "The
Voice of Naples" Oscar Mancino breathes
new life into the Neapolitan song - for far too long stuck in the
groove of O Sole Mio!
The Maestro says: "With a great belief in the importance of interpretation, I want to transmit the pleasure of singing, which is an amalgam of instinct and technique. Naples continues to inspire my songs, and I have never ceased to associate classical music with the Neapolitan song: two very closely linked schools."
Oscar Mancino and his fellow composers are the servants of a bel
canto tradition which refuses to die...
...CANTA NAPOLI... E NON MORIR!!!
